We partner with research teams at different stages, from exploring how mobile technologies, sensing, or AI can support a research question to designing, building, and deploying complete research systems. Explore some of the ways we can support your research below.
Design, build, and deploy AI systems that work with and for people. Our work spans behavioral interventions, conversational agents, personalized health systems, multimodal sensing, and agentic research workflows. We prioritize usability, privacy, safety, and appropriate human oversight.
Use our customizable research platform to collect self-report, embedded sensor, and wearable data; engage participants; and deliver study content and behavioral interventions—or work with us to build a custom smartphone app tailored to your study.
Combine wearables, smartphones, and other sensors to capture multiple streams of participant data in a single study. Our platform supports synchronized data collection across devices and can use incoming data to trigger study actions and interventions.
Collect, manage, and access data from mobile, wearable, and IoT devices through secure research infrastructure designed for real-time and longitudinal studies. Our platforms and infrastructure have supported studies approved by both the SBS and HSR IRBs, and we work with research teams to develop IRB protocols and information security plans for their studies.
Explore how mobile technologies, sensing, and AI can advance your research. We work with research teams to refine ideas, scope technical approaches, design study infrastructure, and develop technical sections for research proposals. We also offer competitive seed awards to develop and pilot promising projects with strong potential to compete for external support.
Probably yes. Smartphones (iOS and Android) carry the bulk of our studies, and most modern wearables and IoT devices support integration via web APIs. If a device you want to work with provides API integration — such as iPhone, Android, Apple Watch, Android Wear, Oura, or FitBit — we can easily add it to our ecosystem if it isn't there already. If you're unsure, just contact us and ask.
Tell us what you're working on and where you could use support. We'll help you think through the right next steps.
